Union Street Party Every year, in September, Stonehouse Action hold a street party, closing part of Union street for stalls, live entertainment and a brilliant afternoon out for local people. Stonehouse Time Bank have a stall and always help set things up and tidy away.

Croquet Day Stonehouse Time Bank members spent some of their hard earned hours on Saturday (27 July) playing croquet on the Millifield Estate Croquet Lawn and having a delicious cream tea. Twenty four of us had a wonderful time learning to play and our host, Oliver Colvile, was very patient – although he did occasionally have to be firm! Some of us proved talented, but sadly most of us didn’t. However even specks of rain didn’t put us off having raucous fun, and we are now looking for Croquet Clubs to join. We have also decided that this is to be an annual event. Stonehouse is an extraordinary place – with pockets of affluence like the Millfields estate and King William Yard, and other areas of real deprivation. When Zebra started a Time Bank in Stonehouse we wondered whether it could encompass the whole range of the community. This event proved that it can – we were a very mixed bunch of 24 people having a great time together. As Barbara said when she saw the list of who was going – ‘What a nice group of people! I’m looking forward to it even more now.’ Thanks to Oliver, Stuart, Jan and Joy who arranged it all. We are now going to have fun events more often, starting with Tony arranging a games evening with bar-b-que.
